Inspiration, even for thought, arises not from the mind, but from the heart. The heart is the fount of inspiration and inspired action - all true Love, either reciprocated or not. Our living from the open heart encourages others to open the heart. Our loving invites others to love. We find, finally, that while we feared to open the heart, the open heart is the fearless heart. The threat is not to have the heart broken, but never to risk in the first place. Living from the open, fearless heart does not mean we never feel fear, this means we know fear does not arise from the center of who we are, really who we truly are, and we learn to trust the heart and act anyway, relaxing amidst the fear. Paradoxically, we open the heart and find we are the heart.

An elderly pilgrim was walking to the Himalayan Mountains. The weather was bitter cold. Rain began pouring down. He stopped at an inn, and the innkeeper asked him, "How will you ever arrive at the Mountains, in this kind of weather?" The aged pilgrim replied, "My heart is already there, so, I am sure the rest of me will get there, too."
